Client: Marlborough Tavern
Location: Bath
Joe and Justin took over a rather down at heel local boozer and have transformed it into a vibrant, modern pub with a reputation for fine food. My brief was to create an atmospheric and inviting pub garden that maximised the opportunity for seating and table space.
I have created distinct areas divided by deep, narrow, bespoke planters with trellis screens that are covered with a range of species Clematis and under planted with Lavender. This allows for a feeling of intimacy and seclusion whilst breaking up the rigid rectangular shape of the space. Scented Roses and jasmine provide scent and colour, climbing over the garden walls. A bed of mixed Thyme and various groupings of planters complete the scheme.
