Client - Gill
Location – Larkhall, Bath
Gill is a keen gardener and avid plant collector whose current space doesn’t allow her the scope to fully indulge her passion.
Gill wanted a lawn free solution with more room for planting, and was open-minded where materials were concerned; a move away from the ubiquitous Bathstone was agreed at the outset.
The garden, which is long and thin, is typical of a Bath town house and one of the key challenges was to maximise the sense of space. This was done using predominantly circular shapes providing a free flowing structure allowing flexibility on the inclusions of client essentials - patio, water, texture, plant beds.
The garden needed to feel as if it had been around for a while and was an extension of the house and its owner.
